We are looking for a People and Payroll Assistant to join our busy People Partnering Team, supporting both HR operations and payroll administration. This role is integral to delivering a seamless employee experience and ensuring accurate, timely people processes that underpin our strategic goals.

Responsibilities

THE ROLE

You’ll be a key member of our People Team, working closely with the Head of People, People Partners, Recruitment Manager, and colleagues across the organisation. Your responsibilities will span the entire employee lifecycle – from onboarding to payroll, benefits administration, data management, and supporting people-focused initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Act as a first point of contact for employee enquiries relating to HR systems and payroll queries.

  • Support with onboarding and offboarding processes, ensuring smooth transitions for employees. Prepare and distribute HR related documentation including contracts of employment, letters changing terms and conditions etc

  • Assist in the processing, validation, and reporting of payroll changes in partnership with HR Shared Services.
  • Maintain accurate personnel records in our HR Information System (Cascade) and other databases.
  • Administer employee benefits, including Cycle to Work, Travel Benefits, Perkbox, and Doctor Care Anywhere.
  • Support wellbeing and engagement initiatives, as well as employee development and training.
  • Liaise with Occupational Health providers to arrange drug/alcohol testing and referrals.
  • Produce HR reports, analyse people data, and assist with internal and external audits.
  • Provide administrative support for organisational change programmes, pay reviews, and employee relations processes.
