We grow through the acquisition of independent dental businesses, who predominantly provide Private dentistry, as well as through looking for the potential for increased turnover and profit within those businesses.
We’re a multi-site operation, 29 nationally currently and growing by 1-2 sites per month. Which means that we’re constantly managing change as each newly acquired dental practice team settles in to being part of a group. For them, this changes the way decisions are made, the way information is shared, policies and procedures and it also means a change in leadership approach. We also have a rapidly growing Resource Hub team, based in Taunton, Somerset.
We’re now at the point where we’re evolving infrastructure around the admin aspects of managing people (400+ employees, 100+ self-employed clinicians), the utilisation of the HiBob system being a core part of this.
Because the People role is so closely aligned with our Operations (our dental practices), the role reports into the Operations Director, Lisa. You will be supported by a People Support and Admin Partner, who has been in post for around 6 months.
Working alongside Operations, we have our Culture Director, Lyn, which is a unique role within the whole dental sector. We started our business, almost 3 years ago, knowing that we wanted a focus upon Culture to be central to our approach as we grow. We’re already making waves within the dental sector as others see the benefits of the approach we’re taking to managing change, engaging our dental teams and developing our leaders. We see our People Team as facilitating and enabling leaders, so that responsibility for people management and engagement remains firmly with our leaders.

EMPLOYEE EXPERIENCE

  • Develop the employee experience from attraction and recruitment, to onboarding and off-boarding and everything in between.
  • Develop our utilisation of HiBob to support the above.
  • Ensure the employee handbook, all HR policies and procedures are kept up to date with changes in legislation and remain fit for purpose.
  • Liaise with the finance team on the payroll process linked to the HR platform to ensure a smooth streamlined process is in place.

TALENT AND PERFORMANCE MANAGEMENT

  • Develop our approach to performance management, including the utilisation of HiBob Talent.
  • Lead talent management processes, assisting managers to build out job descriptions, manage review and objective setting cycles, and plan for succession.
  • Support the development of business wide recruitment process from creating role specifications and advertising to ensuring successful induction and provision of training plans.
  • Provide advice and support to practices on recruitment, assessment and selection processes.
  • Support business wide training needs and support the roll out of training programs accordingly.
  • Manage relevant employee relations casework including disciplinaries, grievances, absence, performance management and retirement.
