JOB SUMMARY:

As a pivotal member of the People, Culture and Excellence team, the People, Culture and Excellence (PCE) Coordinator is the first point of contact for all PCE related queries and functions to ensure the smooth operation of PCE processes. Reporting to the Senior Manager, PCE, the incumbent engages in all employee life-cycle events, policy writing and development and roll-out of initiatives that contribute to the overall well-being of employees. This position plays a key role in fostering a supportive and positive workplace culture that enhances employee wellness.

Responsibilities:

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Act as the primary contact for all PCE-related inquiries, offering guidance to employees and leadership.
  • Oversee all aspects of recruitment, onboarding, performance management, leaves, and offboarding processes.
  • Coordinate wellness initiatives, employee engagement programs, and recognition activities to enhance workplace culture.
  • Coordinate the performance review process, ensuring proper documentation and follow-up.
  • Support conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement plans
  • Assist in implementing DEI initiatives and monitor progress toward inclusion goals.
  • Ensure adherence to PCE policies and compliance with organizational and legal standards.
  • Coordinate training sessions, track attendance, and gather feedback to measure program effectiveness
  • Participate as a member of the Joint Health, Safety & Wellness and Social Committees and act as the PCE team member actively supporting events and initiatives.
  • Assist in organizing staff events, recognition programs, and milestone celebrations.
  • Provide support for special HR initiatives, surveys, audits, and strategic projects as assigned by leadership.
  • Analyze employee data related to performance, turnover, and engagement to inform decision-making.
  • Ensure the confidentiality of employee and organizational information.
  • Willing to travel occasionally and to work flexible hours to meet deadlines, as required and

What you’ll need to be successful in the role (essential qualifications):

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
  • Minimum two years’ experience in a coordination position, ideally within HR or a people-focused environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to approach issues with empathy and a focus on building positive relationships, ensuring solutions are fair and supportive for all parties involved.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively, listen actively, and exercise good judgment and tact when addressing employee concerns and fostering a supportive work environment.
  • Solid understanding of Employment Standards Act (ESA) regulations, HR best practices, and legal requirements to ensure compliance with organizational policies and employment laws.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and discretion, with the ability to handle sensitive information responsibly and maintain employee trust.
  • Strong attention to detail when creating and maintaining contracts, reports, and other documentation, ensuring accuracy and consistency.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook), with the ability to use these tools to create reports, track employee data, and manage communication effectively.
  • Proactive problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to address routine inquiries and issues independently while escalating more complex matters to appropriate leadership.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment, balancing short-term demands with long-term goals.
  • Team-oriented mindset, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across departments and contribute to the overall success of PCE initiatives.
  • Bilingual (English and French) oral, written and reading comprehension skills

While fulfilling job responsibilities, this role requires flexibility to work in different environments, including a remote home office setup, occasional travel, and participation in in-person meetings. Due to these demands, the employee will typically engage in the following activities:

  • Extended periods of sitting, often at a computer workstation.
  • Flexibility in work hours, including the potential for occasional overtime, to meet project deadlines, especially when coordinating with different time zones or during travel
