We are seeking an exceptional People & Culture Business Partner to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. Reporting to the General Manager – People, Culture & Safety, you will play a pivotal role in driving people strategies, championing a positive workplace culture, and ensuring compliance across HR practice, particularly in line with the National Disability Insurance Scheme (NDIS).

SKILLS, EXPERIENCE & ATTRIBUTES

  • Demonstrated experience as a People & Culture/HR Business Partner in disability or community services (or similar).
  • Comprehensive understanding of NDIS reporting and compliance.
  • Expert knowledge of the SCHADS Award and its practical application.
  • Strong track record in performance management and supporting managers.
  • Experience with HRIS platforms, especially Employment Hero.
  • Proven payroll processing expertise and attention to detail.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and communication skills; ability to influence effectively at all levels.
  • Person-centred approach and passion for supporting people with disability.
  • Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources, Business, or related discipline (desirable).
  • Completion of NDIS Worker Orientation Module: Quality, Safety and You.
  • Strong collaborative skills and capacity to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Current Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check.

Responsibilities
  • Business Partnering: Collaborate across departments to provide expert people advice, ensuring alignment with NWDS values and compliance obligations.
  • NDIS Reporting & Compliance: Lead and support all aspects of NDIS workforce reporting, interpreting regulatory changes and ensuring workforce practices meet Quality and Safeguards Commission requirements.
  • HR Strategy & Policy: Develop, review, and implement HR strategies, policies, and procedures tailored to NWDS needs. Deliver training and best-practice support across the employee lifecycle.
  • SCHADS Award Interpretation: Provide expert advice and ensure compliance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
  • Performance Management: Oversee frameworks and coaching, drive staff development, and manage complex employment matters.
  • HRIS Implementation: Oversee the setup of Employment Hero, ensuring configuration meets sector and organisational needs.
  • Payroll Processing: Work closely with payroll to ensure timely, accurate processing and continuous improvement, troubleshooting issues as needed.
  • Employee Relations: Manage and resolve employee relations matters, ensuring fair and prompt resolutions in line with legislation and NWDS values.
  • Workplace Culture: Champion a positive, high-performance culture celebrating diversity, choice, control, and dignity for people with disability.
