About the role
Are you ready to be at the heart of a vibrant and dynamic team? As a People and Culture Business Partner, you’ll collaborate with key clients across all facets of Human Resources, providing comprehensive, end-to-end People & Culture (P&C) services to a team of approximately 220 members within our Vocus Consumer and Legal teams.
We are looking for someone with strong influencing and collaborative skills, who can work closely with business leaders to shape, develop, and implement our people strategy, driving growth and success across the team.
This permanent hybrid position offers the flexibility to be based in either Melbourne or Sydney, with a minimum of two days per week at our Melbourne CBD or North Sydney Office.

What you’ll be doing day-to-day

  • Expert Guidance: Offer sound advice to your business portfolio, ensuring compliance with legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate for Success: Partner with your business portfolio to achieve business objectives.
  • Leadership Development: Coach and guide managers on all aspects of leadership and performance management.
  • HR Process Management: Lead and manage HR processes, including recruitment, performance reviews, learning, and remuneration.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement areas for improvement within HR processes.
  • Recruitment Support: Assist the Talent Team and Business Leaders with recruitment as needed.
  • Policy and Reporting: Advise leaders on HR policies, review and update policies as required, and complete monthly and ad-hoc reports for the HR team and business.
  • Health & Safety Management: Manage health and safety (H&S) and workers’ compensation (WC) matters for your business portfolio.
  • Training & Education: Provide training and education sessions for managers on all HR matters where required.

What you’ll bring to this role
HR Experience and Leadership: 5 to 7 years’ experience in Human Resources, with prior experience in growing businesses, and partnering with senior leaders within an organisation.
Project Execution and Adaptability: Proven track record of executing projects and programs, with the ability to move quickly, juggle multiple work streams, and solve problems across the team.
Change Management and Impact: Comfort working in complex, multi-layered environments with changing priorities, and demonstrating the ability to lead change and create measurable impact.
Relationship Building and Communication: Expert ability to build relationships, earn trust, gain confidence, and influence others, with excellent written and oral communication skills.
Technical and Analytical Proficiency: Proficiency in the use of MS Office Suite, strong analytical skills, and the ability to align human resources strategies with business goals.
Employment Law and Employee Relations: Understanding of the Australian Industrial Relations landscape with the ability to apply to the business
Employee Lifecycle: Experience in facilitating the employee lifecycle – Talent, Rem Review, Performance Review, Goal Setting
