Job Summary
The People & Culture Generalist – will play a key role in ensuring that new employees at Essen Health Care are successfully integrated into our organization. This individual will oversee the end-to-end onboarding experience with a deep understanding of the unique dynamics of a fast-paced healthcare environment. In addition to employee integration, this role will support broader People & Culture initiatives related to engagement, retention, compliance, and culture-building across our network.
Responsibilities
· Support employee relations and engagement initiatives, especially during the critical first 90-180 days of employment.
· Assist with compliance-related onboarding documentation and processes, including credential verification and policy acknowledgement.
· Maintain and update employee records in the HRIS system, ensuring accuracy and confidentiality.
· Support broader People & Culture functions including employee communications, recognition programs, surveys, and wellness initiatives.
· Serve as a trusted point of contact for employees with questions about culture, benefits, or policy.
Qualifications
3+ years of experience in HR, People Operations, or Employee Experience, preferably in a healthcare or multi-site environment.
· Experience managing onboarding or integration programs at scale.
· Strong understanding of HR practices, compliance, and regulatory standards within healthcare (DOH, OSHA, HIPAA).
· Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
· Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office, HRIS systems, and employee engagement tools.
· Bilingual (English/Spanish) a strong plus, given our Bronx-based employee and patient populations.
· SHRM-CP, PHR, or other relevant HR certification preferred but not required.
