About the job

Role Purpose

The People & Culture Specialist will be the face of HR for employees at the Abu Dhabi HO — building strong rapport across teams, driving engagement, and creating a thriving, people-first work environment. This role blends operational HR delivery (onboarding, calendars, appraisals) with a strong relational focus, ensuring employees feel supported, heard, and connected to the organization's culture.

Key Responsibilities

1. Employee Welfare & Engagement

  • Design and run employee engagement initiatives (surveys, feedback loops, wellness programs, recognition schemes)
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employee concerns, grievances, and welfare needs
  • Build genuine rapport with employees across all levels to foster trust and open communication
  • Organize team-building activities, town halls, and culture-building events

2. Onboarding & Orientation

  • Own the end-to-end orientation experience for new joiners, ensuring a smooth and welcoming first impression
  • Coordinate induction schedules, documentation, and cross-department introductions
  • Gather feedback from new hires to continuously improve the onboarding journey

3. HR Calendar & Operations

  • Prepare and maintain the annual HR calendar (engagement events, appraisal cycles, training, compliance deadlines, public holidays per UAE labour law)
  • Ensure timely communication of HR events and deadlines to employees and management

4. Performance Management Support

  • Support the appraisal cycle: coordinate timelines, prepare templates, track submissions, and consolidate manager/employee feedback
  • Assist managers in setting clear, fair performance goals and delivering constructive feedback
  • Maintain accurate performance records in line with company policy and UAE labour law requirements

5. Stakeholder & Management Liaison

  • Act as a bridge between employees and management, surfacing concerns and translating leadership priorities into employee-facing initiatives
  • Partner with department heads on workforce planning, culture initiatives, and people-related decisions
  • Provide regular updates and reports to management on engagement metrics and welfare initiatives

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field
  • 3–6 years of HR generalist experience, ideally with strong exposure to employee relations/engagement
  • Solid working knowledge of UAE Labour Law and MOHRE processes
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills — a natural relationship-builder
  • Strong organizational skills; comfortable managing calendars, appraisal cycles, and multiple stakeholders simultaneously
  • Fluency in English (Arabic is a plus)
  • Based in or willing to relocate to Abu Dhabi
