People & Culture Specialist     Location: Grand Rapids, MI   Type: Full Time – Hourly, Non-Exempt    Position Summary  The People and Culture Specialist supports the execution of employee-focused initiatives by owning core HR functions and ensuring consistency across the employee lifecycle. This role leads recruiting efforts, supports onboarding and development processes, administers performance management systems, and provides day-to-day employee support.  The People and Culture Specialist partners closely with a third-party HR compliance provider to ensure HR practices are accurate, well-documented, and aligned with regulatory guidance, while allowing the internal team to focus on people development and culture.    Key Areas of Responsibility  1. Talent Acquisition & Retention  * Own the full-cycle recruiting process, including postings, sourcing, screening, interview coordination, and offers.  * Build talent pipelines for technicians, administrative roles, and leadership positions.  * Partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and role requirements.  * Maintain ATS processes, hiring documentation, and recruiting metrics.    2. New Hire Experience & First-Year Support  * Manage Day 1 HR documentation and onboarding processes.  * Conduct 30/90/180-day check-ins and identify trends or early concerns.  * Support execution of first-year learning and competency plans.  * Maintain accurate employee files and onboarding records.    3. Performance Assessment & Annual Goals  * Administer the performance assessment process and annual goal documentation.  * Track completion of reviews and ensure consistency across teams.  * Support managers and employees with performance-related tools and timelines.  * Maintain performance records and documentation standards.    4. Professional Development Support  * Track training completion, certifications, and required learning.  * Support scheduling and logistics for professional development activities.
