Job Title: People & Operations Manager (HR)
Reports to: VP of People & Culture
FLSA Status: Exempt
Salary: $90,000 - $100,000
Hybrid Schedule: 3 days in office required, and as needed by operations.

POSITION SUMMARY

The People Operations Manager will lead and direct the routine functions of the HR department including hiring and interviewing staff, administering pay, benefits, and leave, and enforcing company policies and practices. The People Operations Manager will manage the administration of policies, procedures, and programs. The position also carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas: Employee Relations, Recruiting & Staffing (Employment), Payroll, Benefits, Training & Development and Compliance. The People Operations Manager oversees the People Operations Coordinator position.

EMPLOYMENT – 10%

  • Collaborates with People Leaders to determine staffing needs.
  • Manages the full cycle recruitment process for exempt and nonexempt employees, including:
  • Creating and updating job descriptions.
  • Posting and managing jobs on recruiting sites.
  • Screening Candidates.
  • Coordinating Interviews for hiring managers & candidates.
  • Offer Letter generation
  • Applicant Tracking
  • Manages the full cycle onboarding process with candidates, including the development of a 90-day new hire onboarding plan.

OTHER – 5%

  • Maintains compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations, and recommended best practices; reviews policies and practices to maintain compliance.
  • Collaborates with legal counsel as requested by the COO.
  • Maintains knowledge of trends, best practices, regulatory changes, and innovative technologies in human resources, talent management, and employment law.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, Business Administration, or related field required.
  • A minimum of five years of human resource management experience preferred.
  • SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP not required but preferred
  • Bilingual – Spanish and English required
  • Strong employee relations experience required, including conducting thorough internal investigations.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal, negotiation, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and to delegate them when appropriate.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Thorough knowledge of employment-related laws and regulations.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS and talent management systems.
  • Ability to work varied hours.
  • Must be willing to travel and have access to reliable transportation.
  • Outstanding customer service skills, in person and electronic (email and phone).
  • Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe, Outlook]

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift 15 pounds at times.
  • Must be able to access and navigate each department at the organization’s facilities.
