ABOUT THE ROLE

In this role, you’ll be the cornerstone of People Operations for Germany, ensuring compliance, delivering exceptional employee support, and acting as a trusted advisor on local labor laws and practices. As the go-to expert, you’ll contribute to the seamless execution of People processes while fostering alignment with our global initiatives.

WHAT YOU’LL DO

  • Local Expert: Be the subject matter expert in labor laws and regulations in Germany including serving as a consultant in developing global to local processes, policies, and programs. This includes making recommendations and executing required local people programs. Teach and train your fellow teammates on local topics. Stay informed about updates to regulations and HR market practices within the countries you support.
  • Local Compliance: Ensure Miro keeps up to date with compliance within Germany. This includes being responsible for any relevant compliance reporting, government filing, and workers comp. Conduct regular compliance audits to ensure we meet requirements.
  • Frontline People Support: Help support the People Help Portal by providing timely and accurate responses to questions related to HR policies, procedures, and benefits, ensuring a positive employee experience. As you are based in Germany, you will be the face of the People Operations team in your local hub(s) and should anticipate being on-site frequently to help employees in person:Being a point of contact for employees on the ground - People Ops does not advise

    • we listen and escalate.

    • Share insights and suggestions to PBPs if there are themes within organizations and teams
    • Work with the Talent Team on projects to increase engagement when applicable
    • Serve as a liaison to the Employee Relations Team on any onsite investigations and terminations
    • Process and Program Management: Project manage and execute key People processes and programs. This includes managing onboarding for new hires, facilitating job changes, overseeing the termination process in the region, and supporting our team’s priorities.
    • HR Data and Record Management: Responsible for the accurate maintenance of HR profiles, data, and other recordkeeping systems including on-site records when required e.g. in Germany, we must have physical employee records on-site. Ensure all employee records are up-to-date and confidentially managed, adhering to data protection regulations.
    • Payroll Collaboration: Work closely with the Payroll Team to ensure we are compliant with local legislation, and manage employee pay changes, commissions, and bonuses. Ensure all payroll-related modifications are accurately recorded and communicated in a timely manner.
    • Benefits Administration: Provide support in the administration of employee benefits programs in the region to ensure we follow local requirements.
    • Continuous Improvement: Actively seek ways to improve People processes and practices. Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at enhancing the efficiency and effectiveness of the People Operations function.
