Responsibilities

The key responsibilities for this role will include but are not limited to:

  • First point of contact for colleagues’ inquiries and support and taking responsibility for the end-to-end employee journey ensuring every member of the Estelle Manor team feels like they are in a hosted home.
  • Lead a team to ensure an efficient employee journey and experience to include administration, talent attraction, recruitment and selection, onboarding, wellbeing, learning and development.
  • Engage and motivate teams through our pillars and values and ensuring these are alive in the business at all stages of the employee journey.
  • Develop and govern People and Culture policies and procedures in line with UK employment law updates including right to work prior to job offer being made.
  • Ensure that People and Culture standards are adhered to across the business and perform quarterly standards audits are completed and accurate.
  • Prepare monthly departmental reports such as turnover/ retention/ holiday/ absence and communicate to the Director of People and Culture Manager any identified trends.
  • Prepare quarterly reports to include summaries on achieved tasks and targets.
  • Prepare annual report detailing what is to be implemented, reviewed, maintained and developed for the following year.
  • Support and advise on all ER and legal related matters with Senior Leadership Team and Management Teams promoting positive employer-employee relationships and ensuring the business is kept safe by providing human resources advice, counsel and decision making.
  • Ensuring that company and statutory standards and legislations are adhered to, so that our hotel, club, members and colleagues are kept safe at all times.
  • Manage the monthly payroll in line with cut off dates and ensure all departments have signed off rotas and timesheets on a weekly basis.
  • Ensure wellbeing, health and counselling policies and initiatives are in place.
  • Assist Managers with Exit Interviews to manage our leavers experience and retention reporting.
  • Ensure employee communication methods and feedback is managed through meetings, satisfaction surveys, digital platforms etc.
  • Supporting the Employee Experience Manager with planning and organisation of any social events for colleagues including the co-ordination of birthday celebrations, anniversaries and milestones and wellbeing projects and activities.
  • Supporting the Employee Experience Manager with the provision of employee’s chill-out areas such as Colleague Restaurant, Backstage areas and vending areas.
  • Ensuring uniform and personal appearance are clean and professional.
  • Being an ambassador for the hotel and club as well as someone who embodies our values and commitment to our teams both when at work and when not.
  • Demonstrating a positive, proactive and solutions focused approach to work.
  • Continually aiming to improve service by communicating and anticipating member’s needs.
  • Supporting and answering questions and provide assistance to stakeholders, management and members as needed.
  • Offering strong leadership, mentoring, and guidance to your team.
  • Lead People and Culture team meetings with Talent Attraction and Onboarding team, Learning and Development team and Employee Experience Manager and attend hotel and club-wide meetings.
  • Suggesting changes or improvements to increase accuracy, efficiency, cost reductions and to improve member’s experience.
  • Having good communication skills and proficiently liaising with all departments on an ongoing basis; close relationships with Backstage, Spa, Rooms and Membership Teams.
  • Always being available to all colleagues in case of emergency.
  • Performing any other role as required.
