An exciting opportunity has arisen for a People Partner in Rolls-Royce Submarines based in Raynesway, Derby . This is an exciting opportunity to work in a growing part of the business, supporting delivery of National Defence priorities and incredible new technologies.
As People Partner, you will partner with senior leaders to ensure the effective development and delivery of People Strategy and services in the Submarines Business, whilst operating within the Group People delivery model and Company policy. This role will appeal to those that like to work in an environment that is both challenging and supportive, as a key member of the Submarines People team.

Responsibilities

What you will be doing :

  • Work with the leadership team/s in setting the strategy and business plan whilst bringing People insights to the process
  • Diagnosing business problems from an Organisation Development perspective, using tools to identify the levers which will maximise organisation performance.
  • Responsibility for local deployment of Company HR processes such as Performance Management, Reward Review, Role grading, Salary policy, Engagement Surveys and deployment of Diversity & Inclusion plans.
  • Drive the effectiveness of the HR delivery model through working collaboratively across the business and utilising Group Business Services (GBS)
  • Lead and support global and local projects, or components of projects, in particular organisational design and change programmes
  • Bring challenge and perspective to the business agenda, particularly ensuring solid succession plans, talent development and an environment that allows people to be at their best
  • Advise, guide and coach leaders on their people responsibilities, leadership behaviours and complex people issues
  • Drive the effectiveness of the HR delivery model; guide line managers to obtain support from the right areas; maintain a strong partnership with other HR service delivery teams.
  • Provide effective employee relations advice and promote a positive working climate, closely working with union representatives, line management and with the Central ER and case management teams
  • Ensures the development of a Strategic Workforce Planning plan to support the business strategy and plan
  • Provide employee/workforce development by directing leaders to appropriate learning solutions or by identifying new learning needs to Learning Services.
  • Support recruitment activity by ensuring vacancies are defined, graded and approved and line-managers directed to the appropriate resourcing services. Ensure Headcount planning is robust and tracked.
  • Identify gaps and improvements in local HR service provision in line with HR strategy, suggesting initiatives for the local agenda where appropriate.
  • Lead within the PP team on key policy/processes where needed

  • Broad HR experience. In depth knowledge of the HR function and its capability to support business objectives.
  • Broad knowledge of the HR best practice across Employee Relations, Reward, Resourcing, Talent and Development, Coaching, Leadership and Employment Law.
  • Well-developed customer and relationship management skills, including credibility and influencing skills and senior levels and across functions.
  • Broad change management skill set, combined with the ability to apply project management principles to deliver and support organisational change
  • Experience using Organisation Development to enhance business/organisational performance
  • Ability to analyse and challenge business strategy and develop people implications
  • Ability to coach senior leaders and their teams to deliver business strategy and drive performance and capability improvement within their teams
