JOB PURPOSE

As DEPT®’s People team, we work together to create the best workplace in the industry. Open communication and clear expectations are the standard; we always make room for professional development and fun. We deliver what we promise and aim for happy employees (who we call Depsters) in an organisational structure that serves DEPT®’s business goals. As our People Specialist, you will be part of this great team of ambitious and fun colleagues. Within DEPT®, there is plenty of room for new ideas, creativity, and innovation!
We are looking for a motivated and detail-oriented People Specialist to join our dynamic People team. In this role, you will play a key part in supporting (operational) employment law matters, contributing to long-term compliance initiatives and you will also assist in updating and rewriting People policies in alignment with Dept’s vision and local legal requirements.
While your primary focus will be on supporting the team in the Netherlands, you will also have the opportunity to contribute to EMEA-wide projects. Reporting to the Employment Counsel EMEA and VP of People BENO (based in the Netherlands), you will play a key role in ensuring compliance within our People function. You will handle various employment law questions, you will prepare various labour law-related documents, support People policies, and assist with global mobility and regulatory compliance.
In addition to your legal and compliance responsibilities, you will play a role in shaping a positive and future-proof employee experience. You’ll help ensure that our policies and benefits align not only with legal standards but also with what matters to our Depsters.
This role is ideal for someone passionate about employment law, People compliance, global mobility, benefits and workforce regulations. You will work closely with your colleagues in the People team and with business leaders, so a proactive mindset and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment are essential.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Provide operational support on employment law and compliance topics, but there are opportunities to support in multiple jurisdictions.
  • Support compliance related to immigration, work permits, and cross-border employment.
  • Support the People team and business leaders with questions related to contracts, policies and workplace regulations.
  • Assist in developing and maintaining People policies and procedures in line with legal requirements and Dept’s values.
  • Advise and support on our employee benefits, such as the Alleo platform, lease-a-bike, and mobility schemes, and help promote these within the organization.
  • You are the link between the regional Employment Law Counsel, the People team, and the business teams;
  • In addition to your supporting role, you actively contribute to strengthening our culture.
  • You will be part of our dynamic People team that supports the Benelux-Nordics market. The team is split across the Netherlands and Denmark, but the core focus is to support the Netherlands.
