Description
Join a Team That Puts People First! At Altana Federal Credit Union, our members and our team members are at the heart of everything we do. We’re looking for a People Team Assistant who thrives on connection, communication, and creating meaningful experiences behind the scenes. If you’re energized by helping others succeed, solving problems while keeping processes running smoothly, and supporting a team that leads with heart and purpose, this role is your chance to make a real impact every single day. This role isn’t for someone looking for simple or predictable work. Supporting people—especially across recruitment, onboarding, communication, and team member relations—requires resilience, follow‑through, and a commitment to seeing things through even when it’s complex or uncomfortable. You’ll juggle competing priorities, navigate sensitive situations with discretion, and be counted on to deliver with consistency and integrity. If you’re someone who shows up, follows through, and leans in when things get challenging, you’ll thrive here. You’re fully comfortable working with technology of all kinds—HRIS systems, Microsoft Office, applicant tracking tools—and you bring the curiosity, aptitude, and proactive mindset to quickly learn and adopt new platforms. You naturally integrate technology into your workflow and are especially excited about using emerging tools, including artificial intelligence, to work smarter, improve processes, and elevate the team member experience. You recognize these tools don't replace people, they enable them to focus on the touchpoints that really matter. You’ll be an essential partner in our recruitment, onboarding, off‑boarding, and team member relations efforts—helping us bring exceptional people into our organization and ensuring they feel supported from day one. This work directly strengthens our culture and lives out Altana’s CARES values: Connection. Altruistic. Revolutionary. Empowering. Synergistic. What You’ll Do Talent Acquisition Source and screen applicants, schedule interviews, collect hiring feedback, and ensure a thoughtful and compliant interview process. Assist with pre‑hire assessments and ensure all required pre‑hire communications are completed prior to onboarding. Oversee the summer hiring and intern programs. Update job descriptions, build compelling job postings, and publish openings internally and externally. Coordinate paid recruitment initiatives with leadership approval. Team Member Experience & Engagement Support smooth onboarding and off‑boarding experiences. Help maintain People Team content on all channels. Organize and maintain the People Team’s SharePoint drive for clarity and easy access. Assist in team member engagement activities that strengthen connection and workplace culture. Team Member Relations & Support Serve as a first point of intake for minor team member concerns, redirecting serious matters appropriately. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation of interactions and issues. Model empathy, professionalism, and sound judgment in every interaction. Operational & Administrative Excellence Help implement policies and procedures throughout the credit union. Build and develop functionally-specific training content. Drive reporting, accuracy, and data organization within and for the People Team. Coordinate travel as needed. Job Qualifications What You Bring High school diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelors degree preferred. 2-5 years of HR experience in an organization that prioritizes customer experience. Strong communication skills—written, verbal, and interpersonal—with the ability to communicate with empathy, clarity, and professionalism. Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple tasks at once. Mindset & Approach Continuous learner who actively seeks knowledge. Demonstrates confidentiality, integrity, and emotional intelligence. Knows when details matter, and when the big picture is the priority. Uses sound judgment to make decisions and knows when to escalate issues. Delivers exceptional experiences with a people‑first approach. Why You’ll Love Working Here At Altana, you’re joining more than an organization—you’re joining a community. We believe in caring for our team members the way we care for our members: with respect, support, and a genuine commitment to helping people thrive. Here, your work matters. Your voice matters.
