Required Qualifications (as evidenced by attached resume): Bachelor's degree (foreign equivalent or higher) in Environmental Science, Biology, Ecology, Marine Sciences or a related field. Experience in coordinating activities and/or projects. Proficient with a standard computer. Must have, keep and maintain the appropriate valid NYS Driver’s License; have a motor vehicle record which is free from major violations or a pattern of repeat violations. (***Out-of-State Applicants, see "Special Notes”). Preferred Qualifications: Master’s Degree (foreign equivalent or higher). Additional years of full-time administrative and/or project coordination experience. Familiarity with Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) and the Comprehensive Conservation Management Plan (CCMP). Experience with financial and accounting principles, specifically related to grant management. Brief Description of Duties: The Peconic Estuary Partnership (PEP) is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Project Coordinator to help advance its mission. The incumbent will assist on the full lifecycle of a variety of environmental projects, from initial setup to successful completion, working in close collaboration with the PEP Grants Manager, Executive Director, and other staff to ensure projects are executed effectively, align with our workplan, and meet all grant requirements. This is a great opportunity for someone with a background in environmental science and a passion for managing impactful projects. Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects, set priorities, and meet deadlines. Duties: Project Management: Assist with projects, managing all aspects including planning through implementation. Provide regular communication with project sponsors and contractors, facilitating site visits, and ensuring all deliverables are met. Grant Compliance: Work with the PEP Grants Manager to ensure all project activities and spending approvals comply with grant requirements and workplans. Strategic Planning: Contribute to the annual workplan and budget, and attend weekly team meetings to provide updates and identify areas that may need special attention. Communication Materials: Keep all project information—including web-based content, fact sheets, and presentations—current and accurate. Communicate project updates at quarterly PEP Management Committee meetings. Administrative & Logistical Support: Manage all project-related records, coordinate purchasing and facilities needs with various departments. Collaborate with Grants Manager to support administration for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law Project, and others as required. Other duties or projects as assigned as appropriate to rank and departmental mission. Special Notes: The Research Foundation of SUNY is a private educational corporation. Employment is subject to the Research Foundation policies and procedures, sponsor guidelines and the availability of funding. FLSA Exempt position, not eligible for the overtime provisions of the FLSA. Minimum salary threshold must be met to maintain FLSA exemption. This is a hybrid position that offers a flexible work schedule.
