Job Summary: The NP/PA is an Advanced Practice Clinician who will manage patients in an innovative outpatient clinic at Kelsey Seybold. Candidate will evaluate and treat higher acuity patients in the clinic and infusion setting. This position provides opportunities to apply critical thinking and direct care to patients that would otherwise seek medical care in the ER. Responsibilities: Triage, assess, document, and treat referred patients. Utilize evidence based medical practices in the delivery of all patient care. Maintains an attitude of inquiry towards medical practices and patient care outcomes Adapts behavior to the specific patient population, including but not limited to respect for privacy, method of introduction to the patient, adapting explanation of services or procedures to be performed, requesting permissions and communication style. Infusion center coverage for reactions or urgent medical needs Other related duties as required i.e., telephonic follow-up with patients, review ordered labs after discharge from clinic. Qualifications: Licensed to practice in state of Texas. Required – Masters’ Degree in Nursing – Family Nurse Practitioner or Adult/Geriatric Nurse Practitioner ANCC or AANPCP Certified for Family Nurse Practitioner. Physician Assistant: NCCPA-Certified. Current prescriptive authority. DEA license BCLS, ACLS certified Effective verbal and written communication skills and the ability to present information clearly and professionally. 1 - 3 years related working experience preferred Knowledge and ability to start vascular access and administration of medications preferred Advanced vascular access certification preferred Must be able to work Monday-Friday 8a-5p. No call.
