See www.whedco.org for more information. Job Summary: The Casual Bartender is responsible for providing excellent beverage service during events and/or regular service hours. This role includes preparing and serving alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, maintaining a clean and organized bar area, and ensuring a positive guest experience in accordance with company policies and all applicable laws. Primary Responsibilities: Greet guests and provide friendly, efficient bar service Prepare and serve cocktails, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverages according to standard recipes Verify identification and ensure responsible alcohol service in compliance with state/local laws Handle electronic payments accurately Set up and break down bar stations for events or shifts Maintain cleanliness and organization of bar area, equipment, and glassware Monitor inventory levels and communicate restocking needs Collaborate with event staff or management to ensure smooth service flow Respond to guest requests or concerns in a professional manner Heat and serve food options Compensation range: $22.50–$35/hour This role is paid on a tiered scale. Final rate is based on event type and relevant experience. Compensation Structure (Tiered Rates): Tier 1: $22.50/hour: Public performances and BMHC events Tier 2: $25–$26/hour: Private nonprofit or low-rate rentals (commensurate with experience) Tier 3: $35/hour: High-end private events (weddings and similar rentals) Qualifications Qualifications: Prior bartending or hospitality experience preferred Knowledge of common cocktails and bar techniques Must be 21+ and hold any required alcohol service certification Valid TIPS Certification required Strong communication and customer service skills Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods Flexible schedule: must be available for evenings, weekends, and special events as needed Work Environment: This is an as-needed position. Shifts may vary based on event schedules or operational needs.
