Description
The Per Diem Staff Nurse in the Operating Room provides professional nursing care to all people of all ages and their families.  Utilizes knowledge of nursing process to assess, plan, intervene, evaluate and document care.  Formulates nursing diagnosis for treating actual or potential health problems, teaching, counseling and providing care.  Delegates appropriate tasks to assistive nursing personnel.  Displays professional practice as set forth in The Brooklyn Hospital Center’s standard of care, and the institution’s mission and goals. Qualifications * Graduate from an accredited School of Nursing * Bachelor’s Degree in Nursing from an accredited colleges or universities – HIGHLY PREFERRED * One (1) to two (2) years of operating room experience in acute care experience * Current New York State Licensed Registered Professional Nurse * Current Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) * Certified Operating Nurse (CNOR) - Preferred * Excellent written and verbal communication skills * Computer knowledge and skills * Computer application skills – ALLSCRIPTS, EPIC, Microsoft Excel * Communicates in a therapeutic and professional manner. * Speaks, reads and writes English to the extent required by the position.
