Description You will play a vital role in creating a safe, supportive, and empowering environment for our youth in the program. In this role, you’ll work closely with youth supporting their growth, independence, and well-being. While fostering positive development for youth, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe transport from the program to their home. Whether providing day-to-day guidance or helping youth build life skills, you will be an essential part of their journey! What You Will Be Doing to Make a Difference in the Lives of Youth... Provide direct supervision and positive mentorship to youth in a residential setting. Ensure the day-to-day safety and security of program participants. Driving is required; Safely transport youth to and from program activities, appointments, and their homes. Serve as a role model and agent of change, promoting pro-social behaviors. Monitor youth behavior and intervene with appropriate solutions, managing crisis situations therapeutically. Maintain open and effective communication with the Residence Manager, team members, parents/guardians, and other stakeholders. Complete required reports and documentation accurately and on time, including logs and critical incident reports. Participate in staff meetings and trainings Requirements Qualifications High School Diploma or GED required 1 year experience working with adolescents is preferred (not required) Residential experience preferred Experience with systems (e.g. DMH, DCF) preferred Additional languages desirable, though not required Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPI physical interventions, and de-escalation techniques Able to learn, carry out and be certified in CPR and first aid Bay State Community Services is an equal opportunity employer.
