Description

How you’ll make a difference:
As a Performance and Data Officer, you will play a significant role in improving outcomes for children, young people and their families by ensuring the statistics and performance monitoring needs of the Safeguarding Adults Board (SGSAB) and the Children’s Partnership (SGCP) are met.
The Business Unit is a small, experienced team that sits within the Strategic Safeguarding Team. They provide support for both boards and work collaboratively with professionals from all agencies that work with children, adults and families in South Gloucestershire.

What you will be doing:

  • It will be your responsibility to collect, collate and analyse data relating to safeguarding adults and children and be the main point of contact about the data for the department.
  • Daily, you will deal with enquiries and interact with colleagues and partner agencies to maintain strong working relationships.
  • It will be key for you to maintain existing data sets and build new ones for the department.
  • You will write reports based on the data collected and present findings to key statutory partners.
  • You will be responsible for statutory audits and analysis of the audit data.

What we need from you:

  • You will have a degree or relevant qualification preferably with statistical or significant numerical and/or computing content e.g. computer science or computing or have substantial experience in a similar role.
  • It is essential that you have experience of a track record in using data analytics solutions to provide outputs that support business decision making.
  • You must have well developed communication skills to present and explain results clearly and succinctly to users with varying levels of technical knowledge, as well as being able to use the data to influence and persuade future behaviour.
  • Given the elements of this role, you will hold advanced skills in Word and Excel (or similar) and have experience in reporting and analytical software.
  • We require you to have proven expertise in creating dashboards, analysing and researching information including the manipulation of large amounts of statistical data from complex databases e.g. Power BI or similar.

What you need to know:

  • This role is hybrid, with a mixture of working at our office in Yate and working from home.
