About Make Agency:
Make Agency is a growing digital agency based in the heart of East London. With an expanding client portfolio, we’re looking for a Performance Director to lead and shape our Paid Media and SEO teams, driving performance across a diverse range of clients.
About the Role:
This role is strategic, commercial, and leadership-focused, requiring someone who can define multi-channel growth strategies, develop high-performing teams, and ensure Make remains at the cutting edge of digital marketing. The Performance Director will be responsible for the strategic direction, growth, and operational excellence of our performance marketing disciplines (Paid Media & SEO). Working closely with senior leadership, clients, and internal teams, this role ensures measurable results while fostering a culture of innovation and excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leading the strategic direction of Paid Media and SEO, ensuring they work in harmony to deliver outstanding results.
  • Driving client growth and retention by developing high-impact, data-driven performance strategies.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and clients, positioning Make as a trusted partner.
  • Overseeing cross-channel performance marketing execution, including Paid Search, Paid Social, SEO, Display, and broader digital growth strategies.
  • Championing a data-driven culture, implementing advanced measurement frameworks to track performance, attribution, and business impact.
  • Leading, mentoring, and inspiring a team of SEO and Paid Media specialists, ensuring continuous learning, innovation, and high performance.
  • Driving revenue growth through account expansion, new business pitches, and operational efficiencies.
  • Staying ahead of emerging industry trends, ensuring Make remains at the forefront of digital performance marketing.
  • Streamlining processes, tools, and workflows to ensure scalability and efficiency.
  • Collaborating with senior leadership to align performance marketing with overall business objectives.

Essential Skills & Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience in performance marketing, covering SEO, Paid Search, Paid Social, Display, and digital growth strategies.
  • 3+ years in a leadership role, preferably within an agency environment.
  • Strong commercial acumen, with experience in client growth, budgeting, and profitability.
  • Experience managing multi-market campaigns for international brands.
  • Proven track record of delivering measurable business impact through performance marketing.
  • Deep expertise in data, attribution, and analytics, with strong knowledge of platforms such as Google Analytics, Google Ads, Meta Ads, Looker Studio, and other performance tools.
  • Strong leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop high-performing teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management, influencing C-suite and senior decision-makers.
  • A problem-solving mindset, bringing fresh ideas and perspectives to digital growth strategies.
  • Process-driven approach, with the ability to streamline operations and improve efficiencies.
