JOB DESCRIPTION
U.S. Bank is seeking the position of Performance Engineer in Irving, Texas.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology, plus 5 years of experience as a test engineer, performance test lead or related.
REQUIRED SKILLS/EXPERIENCE:
Requires a Bachelor’s degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science or Information Technology, plus 5 years of experience as a test engineer, performance test lead or related. Must possess 5 years of experience with: (a) logging and tracking defects with JIRA; (b) designing, developing and implementing applications with C++; (c) monitoring and assessing capacity planning with PerformanceCenter and LoadRunner Enterprise; (d) automating deployment of cloud-based applications using Pivotal Cloud Foundry; (e) compiling and profiling data using relational databases such as SQL Server; (f) conducting API health checks using IBM API Gateway; and (g) utilizing all of the following tools/technologies: Selenium, Oracle 9i/10g, Visual Studio, Java, and J2EE. Position may allow working from home within commuting distance of worksite location. Base pay range may vary if an offer is made for work in a different location. Pay Range: $126,131 - $155,000. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Performance Engineer will provide performance testing strategy for Agile API testing to product owners, architects, technical project managers and development stakeholders. Work with application development, network, database, and infrastructure specialists to identify and implement performance improvements. Design and implement continuous performance improvement testing milestones. Automate small-scale performance health-checks daily to provide insight of the API performance so development teams can focus on performance improvement. Tune application and systems for performance and scalability improvements. Discover bottlenecks on the server side, using end to end application profiling/tracing. Perform deep dive of JVM/CLR analysis to examine garbage collection, thread and heap dumps. Analyze production data to investigate application performance and capacity planning. Conduct load tests using Storm Runner. Analyze performance results and measurements and provide performance certification reports with recommendations to all stakeholders.
