EXPERIENCE YOU’LL BRING

The ideal candidate is always positive and thoughtful, a straight shooter, and a team player. They’ll also have:
5+ years of hands-on experience managing Paid Media campaigns on Google and other relative performance channels.
Strong knowledge of the digital marketing landscape, with expertise in performance marketing channels.
Proficiency in digital marketing tools such as Supermetrics, Shopify, Google Ads, Google Merchant Centre. Meta Business Manager, TikTok Business Centre, and Pinterest Business Hub (Bonus)

Team Leadership & Upskilling

  • In collaboration with the Head of Performance:
  • Mentor and upskill team members on best practices for Google Ads campaign execution, management, and reporting.
  • Share insights, learnings, and best practices with the wider performance and account management teams.
  • Provide internal training sessions on new developments and innovations within performance marketing.
  • Strengthen knowledge of performance marketing across the agency
Responsibilities

As a Performance Lead (Google) you’ll drive excellence in performance marketing channels, with a primary focus on Google. Lead the strategy, execution, and ongoing optimisation of campaigns, acting as in-house expert to deliver exceptional results. Provide strategic guidance, share expert insights, and collaborate with internal stakeholders to ensure seamless execution and continuous innovation in performance marketing.
On a day-to-day basis, you will be responsible for the following:

Performance Strategy & Execution

  • Lead, develop, and execute high-impact Google advertising strategies to achieve client objectives, with a secondary capability in managing Meta and paid social campaigns as needed.
  • Oversee Google campaign builds, optimisations, and budget management to ensure alignment with performance goals and effective budget pacing.
  • Continuously refine Google bidding strategies, audience targeting, creative approaches, and campaign structures to maximise results.
  • Conduct in-depth performance analysis on Google Ads, identifying opportunities for improvement and implementing best practices.
  • Ensure Google campaign strategies align with client business objectives, proactively identifying growth opportunities.
  • Stay up to date with the latest developments in Google, incorporating new product updates and initiatives into strategy where relevant.
  • Drive innovation in performance marketing by testing new Google tools, platforms, and methodologies.
  • Effectively delegate tasks to campaign supports based on their skill sets in order to optimise time effectively, ensuring efficient use of resources and maximising the effectiveness of account management.
  • Leverage expertise in Google Merchant Centre, Google Tag Manager, product feeds, and other key Google-related tools to drive campaign success.
  • Maintain a holistic understanding of the paid, owned, and earned relationship to ensure comprehensive performance strategies.

Strategic Leadership & Expertise

  • Collaborate with the Head of Performance and agency partners to keep the team informed of key Google industry developments.
  • Act as the go-to expert for Google within the agency, providing insights and recommendations to clients when required, while also offering guidance on Meta and paid social as needed.
  • Foster a culture of continuous learning and development within the performance team, encouraging knowledge sharing and innovation.
  • Leverage Shopify new customer metrics and NCAC to assess the efficiency of new customer acquisition strategies and drive success in paid performance campaigns.
  • Reference GA4 data insights and implement UTM tracking to inform channel planning, ensure accurate attribution, and optimise Google campaign performance.
  • Manage server-to-server conversion tracking for improved data accuracy and reporting.
  • Utilise the data warehouse to create benchmark reports for clients, comparing performance across Google and Meta advertising.
  • Conduct gap analysis and collaborate with clients to develop a 6-12 month performance roadmap.
  • Design bespoke Google strategies to improve performance, aligning with key benchmark data points.
  • Upskill on third-party data management platforms e.g. TripleWhale, Polar Analytics, and Profit Peak as and where required.

Client Communication

  • Provide expert insights on performance channels, stepping in as needed to support client discussions and strategy recommendations.
  • Collaborate with Account Managers to ensure performance strategies align with broader client goals.
  • Translate complex data into actionable insights and present these to clients in a clear, compelling manner.

Team Leadership & Upskilling

  • Monitor and report on client performance, providing detailed insights and strategic recommendations.
  • Ensure reports are accurate, timely, and actionable, offering clear next steps based on data-driven insights.
  • Leverage Supermetrics, Shopify, and platform analytics to extract meaningful performance data.
  • Contribute to monthly and quarterly business reviews, presenting performance trends and areas of opportunity.

Channel Growth & Development

  • Proactively identify opportunities to upsell or expand channel services for existing clients, driving revenue growth and long-term client retention.
  • Participate in client pitches to showcase the agency’s expertise in advertising and secure new business opportunities.
  • Educate clients on the value and potential of the channel, providing insights and recommendations to help them achieve their business goals.
