Guildford School of Acting (GSA) sits within the School of Arts, Humanities and Creative Industries at the University of Surrey and is one of the most highly regarded conservatoires in the UK, with a vibrant community of performers, performance makers, creative practitioners and technicians graduating from our wide variety of programmes each year. As well as providing professional training and study at undergraduate and postgraduate level, GSA also runs a Junior Conservatoire, a Saturday School, and a number of other short courses, as well as a full programme of public productions and events.

Responsibilities

We are seeking an experienced individual to take up the post of Performing Arts Technician (Sound) in the technical team, within the Operations and Events Department at GSA.
The Technician provides technical expertise to support the delivery of all programmes and the development and application of appropriate skills and capabilities, in order to assist the realisation of GSA theatre productions, other public arts events, research events, student society events, open days, conferences, lectures and meetings.
The team also provides equipment, support, mentoring and maintenance, ensuring a high standard for all GSA activities. Providing an excellent student experience is central to all we do.
The hours are typically Monday-Friday, 9-5 (around production work).
