EDUCATION:

• Required Associates Degree in Nursing
• Preferred Bachelors Degree in Nursing

EXPERIENCE:

• Required 2 years RN experience in Labor & Delivery OR Mom/Baby OR Nursery/NICU
• Preferred 1 year training/teaching

• Facilitating and presenting educational programs and support groups to community members including Prepared Childbirth, New Mothers’ Support Group, Newborn Care, Water Birth, Yoga for the Mother-To-Be, and/or other related classes.
• Assisting women and their families to make informed decisions for childbearing regarding benefits and risks evaluation, clarification of values and rights and responsibilities.
• Maintaining competence in the practice of childbirth education and remaining current in research related to the childbearing process.
• Assisting in on-going quality improvement based on feedback from participants.
• Collecting accurate attendance data for statistics.
• Performing other duties as assigned.
• Promoting evidence-based clinical care that exemplifies the pursuit of clinical excellence.
