Pay rate is dependent on Enterprise Agreement and experience: $58.08 - $58.61 per hour, excluding super and company benefits

Due to Retirement, Calvary St Luke’s has an exciting opportunity to join the senior leadership team within the Perioperative services as Perioperative Clinical Nurse Specialist, on a full-time basis. St Luke’s Theatre specialises in ENT and is the largest Orthopaedic surgical provider in Northern Tasmania.
The Clinical Nurse Specialist is responsible for providing safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. In delegation with the Nurse Manager, assisting in the leadership of the perioperative team to achieve optimal patient care, ensuring efficiency of the operating lists and workload.
The role is an integral part of the Calvary Launceston Senior Leadership team. As the Clinical Nurse specialist, you will provide leadership to the perioperative team to ensure safe, effective and appropriate patient care in a patient-focused environment. You will have leadership experience within perioperative nursing and sound knowledge around human resource and business management principals
The role encompasses planning, implementing and evaluating practices, processes and services. It requires team work to achieve excellence in care delivery in line with best practice, governing standards and legislative requirements. Key Responsibilities
Take responsibility to ensure all aspects of patient care services are of the highest standard.
Provide leadership to the unit by demonstrating accountability as autonomous clinician and within a team.
Continuously evaluating the effectiveness of care provide and develop strategic plans for areas of deficit.
Assess, plan, implement, evaluate and lead peri-operative nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary health care team, to achieve goals and positive health outcomes.
Strong understanding of NSQHS Standards, and knowledge of the accreditation process
Partnering with VMOs for theatre allocation and equipment management.
Promoting recruitment and retention of roles within the perioperative space.
Responsible and accountable for the financial outcomes of the perioperative services and achieving performance targets.
Demonstrate knowledge of safety and quality considerations, clinical governance frameworks and innovative models of care.
Ability to demonstrate high levels of communication, interpersonal skills and professional engagement.
Support the transition of new staff into the workforce.

What you bring
The successful candidate will bring the following to the position:
Post Graduate Qualification in Perioperative Nursing (Highly Desirable)
Recent Clinical experience in Theatre Nursing
AHPRA Registration
Sound knowledge and understanding of perioperative governing bodies & regulations.
A desire to share your experiences and participate in the future growth and development of the unit and assist in the education and upskilling of staff within the Peri-operative Unit.
