Aegis Health offers exciting new private surgical services in the heart of the Murdoch health precinct. Located at Murdoch Square, Aegis Health will open comprehensive services across a range of surgical specialties in new clinician designed state-of-the-art facilities. These comprise a four-room operating suite, three procedure rooms, CSSD and overnight accommodation. A range of surgical specialties will include urology, pain, plastics, gynaecology, orthopaedics and gastroenterology.
Aegis Health seeks a dynamic, hands-on nursing leader eager to further develop their management experience and to drive the establishment of the services for commencement in Mid-2025. You will be an experienced clinician accustomed to leadership in a perioperative setting that is focused on service quality, safety and excellent patient care.

Responsibilities:
The Perioperative Services Manager is an integral part of the final service planning, commissioning, implementation and ongoing operational activities, responsible for providing expertise in the development of the surgical services at Aegis Health Murdoch. The role is responsible for operational leadership and management of specialist elective surgical services, including pre and postoperative services and four operating theatres
To ensure effective leadership and management of the Perioperative Services at Aegis Health, the goal is to align with hospital objectives while delivering a cost-efficient nursing service that emphasises exceptional, evidence-based patient care. This will be accomplished through visible and accountable leadership, with a strong emphasis on:
- Providing high-quality and safe services.
- Fostering collaborative relationships with visiting medical officers (VMOs).
- Leading the workforce with energy and effectiveness.
- Ensuring rigorous financial oversight and operational efficiency.
- Develop and review a suite of Perioperative services policies that reflect National Safety and Quality Health Standards (NSQHS), ACORN, Sterilisation Services and other relevant quality and clinical safety standards and legislative requirements.
- Ensure that clinical and corporate governance is embedded in daily work practice.
- Attract high quality visiting medical specialists to the Aegis Health services and maintain positive, effective and responsive working relationship with the doctors.
- Oversee the effective management of resources, inclusive of equipment and scheduling of theatre utilisation, aligning service delivery with demand and activity targets.
- Monitor and evaluate equipment needs, use and maintenance with specialist groups and coordinate tendering and procurement processes in preparedness for executive review and approval.
- Provide effective clinical leadership to the Perioperative services team and ensure a training and development program that is appropriate to meet the needs of Aegis Health staff.
- Promote adherence to all pertinent Key Performance Indicators.
- Actively participates in the accreditation process and leads Quality and Clinical Risk Management initiatives.
- Contributing to the formulation of strategic direction and related planning.
- Enhancing operational performance and promoting innovation.
The role is a permanent full-time position based at Aegis Health Murdoch.
