SKILLS/ABILITIES

• Assumes responsibility for maintaining current knowledge related to the age and development of the patient population served through self-development and participation in unit and departmental inservices on a regular basis, including age-specific competencies on the Learning Network.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred. Willingness to become proficient in infection control practices in the Endoscopy setting is required.
• Able to communicate effectively in English, verbally and in writing.
• Demonstrates customer service skills consistent with GFH values and mission.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents such as instructions, policies, and procedures.Basic math skills with ability to compute figures.

• Flexes to perform patient care technician duties in the Operating Room including room stocking, turnover, cleaning, patient transport.
• Independently performs all required and necessary cleaning and high-level disinfection of all endoscopic equipment and accessories
• Maintains competencies in extensive infection control knowledge regarding high-level disinfection and sterilityProactively maintains complex equipment with precise functional checks and adjustments
