Description

Are you an experienced leader in social care, ready for a role that brings variety, challenge and the chance to make a difference across Scotland? We’re looking for a Peripatetic and Development Manager to support our Older People Services, stepping in where needed and driving forward quality improvements.
In this role, you’ll manage services on a peripatetic basis, provide targeted support to teams, and help shape the development of new initiatives. From supporting new managers and embedding outcome-based care planning, to delivering staff training and ensuring services meet the highest standards, you’ll be at the heart of helping people in later life receive compassionate, person-centred care. To support your travel across Scotland, this role comes with a car allowance in addition to salary.

WHAT WE’RE LOOKING FOR

We’re looking for someone with senior-level experience in social care and a strong understanding of service improvement. You’ll hold an SVQ Level 4 in Social Care (or equivalent social work or nursing qualification), along with assessor/verifier qualifications (D32/33/A1LND9D1 and D34 or VI). Experience of SVQ assessment and verification is essential, as is confidence with Microsoft Office. A full driving licence is required, as you’ll be travelling across Scotland and occasionally staying locally while supporting services.

Responsibilities

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

  • Managing services temporarily where support is needed
  • Supporting new managers with induction, mentoring and development
  • Helping services deliver quality improvement plans
  • Developing and auditing care planning systems and processes
  • Coordinating and delivering training for staff teams
  • Contributing to new service developments and reconfigurations

WHY THIS ROLE MATTERS

This is a unique opportunity to combine leadership, training and service development in a role that has a direct impact on the quality of care we provide. If you’re motivated by improving standards, supporting others to succeed, and ensuring older people live with dignity and compassion, this could be the role for you.
This post requires you to be a member of the PVG Scheme, registered with the SSSC or other relevant professional body, and to have a Christian faith that allows you to work within and uphold our Christian ethos.
