Description

The Role:
Paddock school, an OFSTED rated Outstanding provision, is actively seeking full-time SEN Teaching Assistants who are looking for a permanent position and interested in being upskilled with Team Teach training. Located across two sites in SW15, this supportive and inclusive school caters for a variety of complex and severe needs, specialising in supporting non-verbal children and those with sensory impairments aged 4 - 19. The school provides a nurturing learning environment with state-of-the-art facilities, such as low arousal classrooms, sensory and therapy rooms, a new early years playground, art and cooking rooms, a life skills area, specialised recreation spaces, and exceptional outside learning environments.
Although challenging, Paddock school will provide you with excellent opportunities for professional development, and quick progression. Zen Educate are pleased to offer Team Teach training free of charge for dedicated candidates seeking long term, full time positions in our SEN schools starting January. Team Teach is an accredited, award winning training that will equip you with essential skills in positive behavioural management, highly desirable in school, health, and social care settings. If selected, this training will commence in February, and will consist of two days at one of our SEN schools.
Earn up to £110 a day, depending on your experience and the impression you make during paid trials - an opportunity that Zen is more than happy to arrange for you to get a genuine feel for the role. Our schools are looking for full time staff, who can commit Monday to Friday between 8.25am and 4pm until the end of the academic year. If successful following your trial, the school is looking for candidates to take on permanently. There may be a possibility that you will be asked to swim.
This role is highly active and fast paced, so we are looking for really passionate, motivated and enthusiastic SEN TAs with a can-do attitude, ready to go above and beyond for the children. Experience is by no means required, so this is a great opportunity if you’re looking to kick start a career in special education or just develop your existing skills further.

  • Be flexible, proactive and patient
  • Available for long term full time work with the interest of going permanent
  • Be able to communicate effectively within a team
  • Be resilient, passionate and driven to go above and beyond for children of all needs
  • Be open to providing personal care
  • Have a Background in Education, Care, Psychology or Drama, as these are very transferable.
  • Training or experience in non-verbal communication is preferred, but a willingness to learn is essential. For example Makaton, PECS
