Permit Issuing Officer – Heavy Vehicle (Transport) Transport and Infrastructure at Beca Beca’s Transport and Infrastructure work is at the heart of our business. The opportunity | Te whiwhinga mahi Join our friendly team in Tauranga as a Permit Issuing Officer (PIO) on a 12 month parental leave cover, commencing April 2026. In this role, you’ll receive applications from Waka Kotahi NZ Transport Agency (NZTA) for heavy motor vehicles and prepare permits to authorise these vehicles to travel on State Highways. You’ll liaise with applicants, verify details, and use your proven computer skills to process applications accurately and on time. Day to day, you will: Review heavy vehicle permit applications and supporting documentation Apply relevant criteria to assess routes and vehicle configurations Prepare and issue permits in line with standards and timeframes Communicate clearly with applicants and internal stakeholders Maintain accurate records and continuously improve how we work About you | Ko wai koe You’re organised, detail-focused, and keen to learn. You communicate clearly, pick up new systems quickly, and bring a positive, can-do attitude. You enjoy working with others but are comfortable managing your own tasks too.
