ABOUT US
SIMEC Mining Iron Ore has operations in South Australia and New South Wales. Our Iron Ore operation in South Australia’s Middleback Ranges South of Whyalla consists of three primary sites: Iron Baron, Iron Knob and the South Middleback Ranges. We also have a portfolio of non-ferrous mining assets located in South Australia, including the Ardrossan Dolomite Mine – which supplies dolomite flux to Whyalla Steelworks – as well as a collection of copper-gold exploration projects.
ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a proactive and safety-focused Permit to Work (PTW) Coordinator to join our Processing team at SIMEC Mining. In this role, you will play a critical part in ensuring safe, compliant, and efficient operations by coordinating and embedding our PTW system across all workgroups, including contractors.
As the site-based subject matter expert for the PTW program, you will provide leadership, coaching, and technical guidance to ensure all high-risk activities are planned, authorised, and executed safely. You will be responsible for leading the change management process as this new system is rolled out, supporting shutdowns and daily operations, and ensuring consistency and compliance across the business unit. This role requires a collaborative leader with strong technical knowledge, excellent communication skills, and a genuine commitment to safety.
