Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a Permit Schedule Manager to join its Data Centre design team in Dublin, Ireland delivering design and permits for Datacenters, HV substations and Grid connections in existing and new jurisdictions across Europe, Middle East and Africa Key job responsibilities Key job responsibilities Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Creating, updating and maintaining site specific permitting schedules for all datacenter, HV substations and grid connections projects in the EMEA region. At project kick off chair an interactive permit preparation schedule development session to Liase with the Permitting and Design managers and Design Vendors to identify and schedule all planning permissions and permits associated with the design, construction, and operation of the project - projects include Datacenters, HV substations and grid connections in existing and new jurisdictions across Europe, Middle East and Africa Coordinate between internal and external project design teams weekly to track and update each project permitting schedule. Communicating the update to the project Design manager to report if all partner teams are performing their required actions at the appropriate time or if there are risks on permit items to be addressed. Identify opportunities to expedite permitting timelines Manage and update an overall EMEA permitting tracker, identifying risks and weekly reporting on these to management Manage active condition discharge and communicate active & passive permit conditions to operations at handover. Complete after-action reviews and identify opportunities for process improvement. A day in the life As a Permit Schedule Manager you will be part of a global engineering leadership team, comprised of highly effective Architects, Structural, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, and Control Engineers delivering capacity projects across the Europe, Middle East & Africa geography. This role is an opportunity to collaborate with many facets of the AWS organization, external engineering resources and regulatory agencies. Basic Qualifications: - Experience in industrial or commercial engineering in mission critical facilities including but not limited to: data centers, power generation or oil and gas facilities - Bachelors Degree in Engineering or Architecture - Proficient in Scheduling and Resource management software e.g. Primavera, MS Project - Minimum of 8 years of Project or Schedule Management experience including schedule development and management, including coordinating multiple consultant teams schedule inputs and facilitating meetings. - Of that a Minimum of 5 years professional experience in permitting large developments - such as data center, industrial or mission critical facility projects. - Basic multidisciplinary knowledge of industrial building design and permitting, design process, and the construction process. Preferred Qualifications: - Experience with building codes and regulations for your region - Experience carrying design concepts through exploration, development, and into deployment or mass production - Experience reading, interpreting, and creating construction drawings, specifications, and submittal documents - - These additional qualifications and experience will help the candidate be successful in the role: - - Project Management Certification; - - Vendor and consultant management skills; - - Proficient in one European language; - - Excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and high quality standards.
