Personal Assistant – Government Te whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity This role is a trusted partner to the Local Government Market Lead and Auckland Council Client Director, working closely with senior leaders to support strong commercial, client, and community outcomes. You’ll build effective relationships across Market, Operations, and the wider Local Government team, supporting the delivery of agreed priorities, market initiatives, and the day‑to‑day execution of strategy. Working in close partnership with Auckland Council and local authorities, the team delivers complex projects that shape cities and communities, including transport and mobility, water and resilience, urban development, growth planning, and place‑based outcomes. You’ll apply sound judgement to manage competing priorities in a fast‑paced local government environment, while maintaining alignment to longer‑term market objectives and helping leaders turn plans into action. A key focus of the role is enabling leaders to foster engaged teams, strong client relationships, and high‑quality project and advisory delivery aligned to inclusive, values‑led leadership. You’ll also support clear, effective communications and market narratives—such as executive updates, presentations, and leadership and capability initiatives—working with specialist creative and People & Culture teams and bringing your own practical flair to support business performance and market growth. Proficient in a Microsoft 365 environment and at ease in a digital workspace for document management and sharing, you’ll be an advocate of new ways of working, leveraging our strong digital platform for delivery and communication. Your positive energy, eye for detail, solution focus and sense of humour will be a good fit for the team and will positively impact internal and external relationships, contributing to your success and enjoyment.
