MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

  • National Senior Certificate or equivalent
  • Relevant tertiary qualification (advantageous)
  • 5 years’ experience in a similar role providing support at executive level
  • Extensive diary management experience
  • Computer literacy, particularly MS Office Suite

  • Written and verbal communication, with the ability to draft formal correspondence
  • Time management and organisation
  • Administration and attention to detail
  • Telephone and email etiquette

Abilities:

  • Use initiative and work well in high-pressure situations

Responsibilities

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE WILL BE RESPONSIBLE FOR:

  • Managing the diary of the Parliamentary Chief Whip
  • Completing wide-ranging administrative tasks, including preparing letters, reports, minutes of meetings and presentations, as well as providing logistical support and conducting meeting preparation
  • Communicating directly, and on behalf of the Parliamentary Chief Whip, with internal departments and external stakeholders, and responding to relevant queries
  • Assisting the Chief of Staff in administrative and logistical matters relating to the office
