Description Department: Branch Administration Reports to: Branch Management Supervises: None Summary: Counsels with customers and performs clerical duties to open/close all types of deposit accounts and products. Promotes use of bank services and products. Provides prompt, courteous service to customers by processing transactions provided, answering questions, and referring to other departments. Acts as a resource to other tellers, and has certain levels of operational authority. Accurately maintains a fund of cash. Functions as the bank’s primary contact with the public. Essential Job Functions: Meeting with current or prospective customers and counseling them on the benefits and features of bank products, as well as assisting customers with loan applications. Cross selling the banks products and services and referring customers to other bank representatives as appropriate. Telephone inquiries from customers and other bank personnel, which could include answering questions on bank products, referring customers to other bank departments (financial services, trust). Preparing forms for opening/closing accounts, including checking, savings, CD’s, savings bonds. In addition, work to mitigate any legal and/or monetary risks associated with these types of account changes. Open IRA accounts, counsel customers on benefits and features of IRA product, assist customers with distributions, contributions, and transfers. Maintaining the bank’s lock box program, including issuing/closing out boxes, posting lock box payments and mailing out statements. Assist customers with stop pays, wires, ACH’s and other related services. Act as Notary Public. Performs other clerical duties, such as data entry, filing, etc. Acts as a teller when needed, and serves customers processing a variety of transactions using own judgment within limits regarding the validity of transactions presented. Balance ATM machine. Maintain vault cash, open/closes vault daily, if given responsibility of vault teller. Balances ledger accounts daily/when needed. Stays abreast of regulations and security events that directly affect customer service operations. Participates in audits of same. Trained on FSB’s Customer Acquisition and Growth program and able to perform duties aligned with the program. Recognize customer needs and refer to respective department Performs other related duties as assigned. Involved in community by teaching financial literacy at Amish Schools, and volunteering for Junior Achievement in some instances. The noise level in the work environment is usually light to moderate. Requirements Job Requirements: High School Education or equivalent. Customer Service skills, both phone and face to face. Ability to work within defined parameters and make decisions using provided guidelines. Knowledge of bank products and services, and regulatory requirements related to cashing checks, and other deposit/loan payment transactions.
