Description Purpose To perform non-professional direct resident care duties under the supervision of the Personal Care Coordinator; and to assist in maintaining a positive physical, social, and psychological environment for residents in the Personal Care Facility. To perform these duties in accordance with applicable current regulations and standards governing personal care facilities; and to perform these duties in accordance with the mission of Elm Terrace Gardens to promote the health and well-being of individual residents based on their functional abilities and potential. 12 hour shifts, 7a-7p this schedule works 2 days a week and every other weekend, which is considered full-time (72 hours bi-weekly). Full-time employees receive medical, dental and vision benefits after 60 days, life and LTD insurance, 2 weeks vacation and sick time, daily lunch allowance, 403b employer match. Resident Care Functions - Duties 1 Assist residents with personal hygiene, including bathing, dressing, and care of clothes, hair grooming and shampooing, oral care, shaving and nail care. 2 Assist residents with tasks of daily living as directed by the Personal Care Coordinator, making and keeping appointments, arrange shopping, use of the telephone, correspondence, personal laundry, social and leisure activities, securing health care, ambulation, use of prosthetic devices, 3 Provide resident care functions as directed by the Personal Care Coordinator, including measuring and recording of temperature, pulse, blood pressure, respiration and bowel/bladder regiments. 4 Weighing and measuring residents. 5 Performing restorative procedures and assisting with rehabilitative procedures. 6 Assist dietary staff in the resident dining room with meal service. 7 Identify food arrangement and components of different types of diets. 8 Assist residents in after-meal care as necessary. 9 Observe, report, and document changes in resident conditions to the Personal Care Coordinator, including changes in levels of function, appetite, alertness, and behavior, and skin breakdowns. Requirements Qualifications 1 Must be at 18 years of age and completed high school or obtained the Equivalent of a high school education; or be a C.N.A in good standing and maintain as long as employed by Elm Terrace Gardens. Must have High School Diploma or GED from the United States-Required 2 One to three years previous experience in a licensed personal care facility preferred. 3 In accordance with Personal Care Home Licensing Regulations must be certified or capable of obtaining certification in cardiopulmonary resuscitation, first aid, and Heimlich maneuver, and maintain such certifications as long as employed by ETG. 4 Must possess the ability to speak to and be understood by residents and staff in English, and demonstrate the ability to read, write, and follow oral and written directions in English. 5 In accordance with Personal Care Home Licensing Regulation, must be of good moral character and must be free from a medical condition, including drug or alcohol addiction, that would limit the direct care staff from providing necessary personal care services with reasonable skill and safety. 6 Must demonstrate the ability to work with minimum supervision 7 Must possess an agreeable and helpful attitude toward senior adults. 8. Must be punctual for assigned shifts
