JOB DESCRIPTION:

A Personal Care Assistant is a non licensed member of the home health care team who assists the client with the tasks of daily living as outlined in a written care plan that is established and kept in the client’s home. Personal Caregivers / Aides are supervised by the Executive Director at this agency and receive scheduling direction from the agency staffing Coordinator.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Personal Care Assistant must have experience which is verifiable through references, and must complete this agency’s employment and certification process.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be physically able to perform the duties of the position.
• Must exhibit mature responsible behavior, and understand the need for patient confidentiality.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English.
• Must be able to follow direction and accurately report any changes in client’s condition.
• Must have available reliable transportation to and from assignments.
