Description

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Personal Care Assistant (PCA) to provide support and assistance to individuals who require assistance with their daily living activities. The PCA will be responsible for providing personal care, emotional support, and companionship to clients while ensuring their safety and well-being.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist clients with personal hygiene, including bathing, grooming, dressing, and toileting
  • Help clients with mobility by transferring them from their bed to a wheelchair or vice versa
  • Administer medication as prescribed by a healthcare professional
  • Monitor and record vital signs, such as blood pressure and pulse rate
  • Provide companionship and emotional support to clients
  • Assist with meal preparation and feeding
  • Perform light housekeeping duties such as cleaning, laundry, and organizing
  • Accompany clients to appointments, social events, and other activities
  • Report any changes in the client’s condition to the healthcare team

Requirements:

  • Certificate 3 In Aged care or Individual support.
  • Previous experience in a healthcare or caregiving role preferred
  • Knowledge of basic medical terminology and procedures
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Compassionate and patient personality

Working Conditions: PCAs may work in a variety of settings, including hospitals, nursing homes, and private residences. The work may involve standing or walking for extended periods, and may require lifting or moving clients. PCAs may be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, depending on the needs of their clients.
