PERSONAL ASSISTANT ROLE PROFILE

JOB TITLE: Personal Assistant. LOCATION: Otley, LS21
HOURS: Contracted total per week. 22.5 hours
Consisting of: on weekdays, each afternoon. 4 ½ hours each day ideally starting at 2pm. until
6:30pm and optional working on alternative Saturdays. Flexibility to cover sickness and holidays in conjunction with my current morning PA would be a big advantage.
Annual Holiday Leave 5.6 weeks ( Pro rata of contracted hours, including Bank Holidays)

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

I am a 47-year-old male living in Otley. I have advanced Primary Progressive MS and require
extensive support within the home and when I go out.
I enjoy going to different places and would like to stay as active as possible.
I am looking for a 2nd PA to support me with all aspects of my life to enable me to remain as
independent as possible and stay in my own home.

 Must be committed and reliable.
 Must be able to cook / prepare my meals and be comfortable with feeding me and leave the
kitchen area clean & tidy.
 Must be proactive and will need to be able to use initiative. Ideally, my PA will actively
suggest and encourage me to try things and support me with all aspects of personal care,
have a good sense of humour, provide companionship and help me regain my confidence
away from home.
 Be comfortable with administering hydration flush via PEG.
 Empty my leg bag as & when required.
 Support and remain with me when attending any medical appointments.
 Support me to be more involved with home life e.g. organise shopping, as well as helping me
with my personal needs /errands. e.g. going for haircut, dentist, or for a coffee/pint away
from the home environment.
 To change my bedding & wash towels and clothing as required. Be comfortable with using
dishwasher, washing machine, tumble dryer.
 Complete a daily timesheet & check diary for any communication from morning P A
 Prepare and give a snack mid-afternoon and prepare and give an evening meal
 Ensure I am adequately hydrated, offering reminders and support to drink when needed.
 Facilitate Physio exercises each day.
 Check personal care supplies & either place order or advise if further stock needs ordering
for bought items in conjunction with my morning PA.
