JOB DESCRIPTION

JOB DETAILS

I’m a 25-year-old ambulatory wheelchair user looking for a kind and dog-friendly personal assistant to support me at home. I need help with personal care like washing, dressing, and hygiene, as well as support with preparing meals, keeping my home tidy, and attending the odd appointment/running errands. I have an assistance dog (a large Belgian Shepherd), a small/medium pet dog (Sprollie)and a cat, so you must be comfortable around dogs. I don’t need help walking them, but I do need help getting my assistance dog into her harness, boots, and other gear before she starts work if we are running errands. I’m a shy person and can take time to trust new people, so I’m looking for someone who is patient and friendly. I run a small business from home making vests and bandanas for working and pet dogs when I’m well enough. My husband works from home full-time and does everything around the house, but it’s becoming too much for him to manage alone. We also have an allotment nearby with chickens and homegrown veggies, and I’d love to cook again if I had the support.
