Description

Mosaic 1898, Direct Payments Support Service are assisting a lady with multiple medical conditions to recruit a Personal Assistants to assist her in day to day life.
The family are looking for someone who has an understanding of living with pain ,tiredness and cognitive issues. Support with reduced mobility and uses a walking stick when out and about. To work as part of a team to regain and maintain independence, with a goal of returning to work.
The role is for 12 hours a week over 5 days, Monday to Friday, initially 7.5 hour over 5 days due to individuals fatigue ad social anxiety.
Times - 30 minutes in the morning and 1 hour in the evening. 5 days a week

Responsibilities

A Personal Assistant is required to support the client with all aspects of daily life, including:

  • Preparation of breakfast, lunch and dinner, support with making good nutritional choices.
  • Support and encouragement with going to regular social inclusion groups, including getting ready.
  • Assist and prompt with personal care.
  • Domestic duties - hoovering and mopping, cleaning the kitchen and bathroom, emptying and putting bins out for collection, changing beds, assist with laundry including hanging out washing to dry and putting dry clothes away, general tidying up around the house, washing dog bowls.
  • Prompts to take medication, and a visual check that the dosette box slots are empty to confirm medication has been taken.
  • Support and encouragement to go for walks around the estate and local parks.
  • Keep accurate records for funding purposes.

The client has found herself in a hoarder situation and while the house is safe currently, there are still a lot of belongings that the client needs support to go through. Due to fatigue this must be done slowly.
The client is hard of hearing and lip reads and uses hearing aids, so the ideal candidate will be proficient in spoken English.
