Description

Personal Injury Lawyer
We are looking for a qualified lawyer (0-4 years’ PQE) to join the Personal Injury team in central Bristol. You will advise Claimants on personal injury claims under the supervision of the team’s Partner.
The team’s expertise includes accidents at work, public liability claims, and road accidents, with a specific focus on cycling claims, industrial disease claims, and beauty treatment claims.
We are top ranked in both Chambers and Partners UK and The Legal 500. Several team members have also been individually recognised by both legal directories for their expertise.
Our personal injury lawyers pride themselves on providing high standards of client care, with a dedication to supporting clients during what is often a stressful and emotional time. If this sounds like you, get in touch.

The role

  • Manage and progress personal injury cases for Claimants, with the aim of concluding them efficiently and with the best possible outcome.
  • Assist other lawyers with their cases as needed.
  • Triage new claims and undertake risk assessments.
  • Interview clients, take instructions and prepare witness statements.
  • Maintain detailed file notes and records of client interactions and actions taken.
  • Advise other departments and teams where needed.
  • Handle all claim processes, including form completion, submission, monitoring, valuation, settlement, and billing.
  • Comply with all appropriate pre-litigation protocols.
  • Respond to all correspondence promptly.
  • Deal with funding arrangements with all the appropriate approvals.
  • Obtain, review and assess medical records and evidence.
  • Instruct and assess experts and Counsel.
  • Draft schedules of financial losses.
  • Draft claims and other court documents.
  • Prepare for and attend case management conferences and court hearings (or instruct Counsel where appropriate).
  • Keep clients informed about their cases and current and anticipated costs.
  • Report complaints and data protection issues and respond to information requests from supervisors.
  • Record time accurately and meet monthly targets.
  • Manage costs at the claim’s conclusion, including preparing bills and invoices per accounting procedures.

In addition, you will be expected to support the Marketing and Business Development team with legal directory submissions, networking and developing sources of work, and get involved with blogs and case studies.
You may also supervise other team members where necessary.
