Both NET-A-PORTER and MR PORTER have dedicated teams of Assistant and Personal Shoppers globally across London, Hong Kong, and multiple US sites including a main office in New York, who communicate with customers through different channels ranging from; WhatsApp to one-on-one consultations in the personal shopping suites of the company’s offices. Offering the high-spending clients services such as global free shipping, the ability to reserve or pre-order new-season items, or exclusive collections and access to a series of lifestyle and shopping events hosted by NET-A-PORTER or MR PORTER. Personal Shoppers and the Assistant Personal Shoppers create special lookbooks for EIPs to buy from directly.
The NET-A-PORTER team are now seeking a talented and driven Personal Shopping Assistant Manager for our Personal Shopping Team serving our EIPs (Extremely Important People). Reporting to the Personal Shopping Manager and based in London, you will be responsible for ensuring your team of Personal Shoppers and Assistant Personal Shoppers meet sales targets, whilst liaising with wider internal and external teams to lead product initiatives in order to drive sales and engagement. You will set a standard of exceptional service experience for our global, demanding customers, keeping the NET-A-PORTER Personal Shopping experience as the standard bearer in the luxury marketplace.

Here’s a breakdown of what you’ll be doing:

  • Directly manage a team of Personal Shoppers and Assistant Personal Shoppers
  • Motivating your team to achieve targets & set KPI’s
  • Work with the Training Manager to establish development plans and training for the team- to include external product training
  • Provide one-on-one coaching to optimise sales productivity and build effective customer relationships, supporting career progression of individuals and maximise individuals’ skills
  • Co-ordinating Seasonal Designer Edits in line with Buys – Trend Reports and New Designer launches
  • Attend Seasonal Buys with Personal Shopping management, feeding back to buyers on Personal Shopper selections. Propose and work with the Buying team to develop incentives for slow selling products
  • Own the Special-Order business, highlighting EIP appropriate products/exclusives available to special order driving engagement EIP’s
  • Drive sales through using profiling tools to define targeted customer engagement strategies on a monthly basis
  • Liaising with CR & PS Management to define themes and relevant product selections for events - Owning Style Suite requests and managing logistics of product selections with the Product Executive
  • Managing the Personal Shopping Affiliate Scheme for the region working with the PS team co-ordinator to recruit, on-board new Stylists into the program as well monthly reporting and approving commission payments
  • Report and follow up on new designer launches, best sellers/slow sellers through each week and ensure follow up of pre-ordered pieces
  • Liaise with the Global Campaign and CRM teams to feedback on assets to push specific launches & work with Upload Planner to highlight EIP appropriate product & new designer launches to PS in advance each week

The type of person we are looking for:

  • Previous experience of managing team of salespeople
  • Direct sales experience in a luxury retail environment
  • Strong computer literacy (CRM Systems, Microsoft Office and reporting).
  • Extensive interest and understanding of the luxury fashion sector
  • Highly sales target and results driven
  • Flexible, positive and a keen team player in all circumstances.
  • Self-motivated, pro-active and strong organizational skills.
  • Experience of managing marketing campaigns to drive sales and customer relations (desirable)
  • Excellent standards of service and communication (both written and oral- additional language always a desirable)
