JOB OVERVIEW

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential assistance to individuals in need of care, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a supportive environment. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for our clients, particularly those requiring assistance with daily living activities.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Previous experience in caregiving, home care, or assisted living settings is preferred.
  • Knowledge of patient care practices and basic medical terminology is beneficial.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the client.
  • Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build trusting relationships with clients and their families.
  • Compassionate attitude towards individuals requiring support, particularly those with dementia or chronic illnesses.
  • Certification in first aid or CPR is a plus but not mandatory.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.

Responsibilities
  • Provide personal care and support to clients, including assistance with bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Assist with meal preparation and ensure clients receive nutritious meals tailored to their dietary needs.
  • Administer medication as prescribed and monitor clients for any side effects or changes in condition.
  • Offer companionship and engage clients in meaningful activities to promote mental well-being.
  • Support clients with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe living environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or other cognitive impairments.
  • Document and report any changes in client health or behavior to the appropriate healthcare professionals.
