We are currently seeking a Temporary Part-Time Personal Support Worker (PSW) who is dedicated, flexible, and capable of providing both in-home support and front desk/administrative assistance in our office when needed.

JOB SUMMARY:

This role combines direct client home care services with front desk administrative support. It’s ideal for a PSW who is not only skilled in caregiving but also comfortable in a healthcare office environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Valid PSW Certificate/Diploma from a recognized Canadian institution
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in home care or community-based support
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable vehicle required
  • Current CPR and First Aid certification
  • Clear Vulnerable Sector Police Check (or willingness to obtain)
  • Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
  • Comfortable using scheduling systems and performing basic computer tasks

Responsibilities

HOME CARE DUTIES:

  • Provide personal care: bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting, oral hygiene, etc.
  • Support safe mobility, lifting, and transfers using proper techniques and mobility aids
  • Prepare nutritious meals and assist with feeding based on client dietary needs
  • Perform light housekeeping tasks: laundry, dishwashing, vacuuming, and tidying
  • Accompany clients to medical appointments, shopping trips, and community outings
  • Run errands such as grocery shopping and prescription pickups
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to reduce client isolation
  • Administer medications or reminders in accordance with care plans and PSW scope
  • Observe and document any changes in client condition and report to supervisors
  • Promote independence by encouraging participation in daily routines
  • Ensure care is delivered with dignity, respect, and sensitivity to individual needs

FRONT DESK / ADMINISTRATIVE DUTIES (AS NEEDED):

  • Greet clients and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner
  • Answer phones, take messages, and handle basic client inquiries
  • Schedule and confirm client appointments using scheduling tools
  • Maintain and update confidential client records in compliance with PHIPA
  • Support office operations with scanning, filing, photocopying, and document preparation
  • Assist care coordinators with intake paperwork and client onboarding
  • Monitor and restock front desk and office supplies, including PPE and forms
  • Communicate effectively with staff, clients, and families to support smooth operations
