SKILLS & QUALIFICATIONS

• Personal Support Worker (PSW) certificate from an Ontario Community College Program OR a private career college in Ontario that is registered with and approved by the Ministry of Training, Colleges and Universities with successful completion of the final examination administered by the National Association of Career Colleges (NACC) OR a approved Ontario Board of Education PSW Program
• Must have a minimum of 2-year Personal Support worker in LTC.
• Must be able to communicate fluently (written and verbally) in English.
• Proof of current immunization for measles, mumps, rubella and varicella (MMRV), diphtheria, pertussis, Covid-19 hepatitis B and Tetanus.
• Proof of negative TB skin test within the past one (1) year or negative chest x-ray
• Certificate or Equivalent Current CPR and Standard First Aid Certification
• A clear Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening within the last 12 months.
• Reliability and strong organization skills
• Ability to safely lift up to 35 lbs.

• Adhering to professional standards and established policies and procedures, assist clients with all activities of daily living (ADL’), including personal hygiene (showering, bathing); incontinence care; dressing and grooming; light massage and passive range of motion (ROM), ambulation, positioning and transferring, feeding by mouth, mouth care.
• Working under the general guidance of a registered healthcare professional, follow/implement the established care plan, observing and reporting any substantial findings and/or changes in patient/resident/client’s behavior.
• Provide skilled and compassionate care .
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor or devised under a specific care plan
