Description

We are looking for Personal Support Workers who are interested to work in a home setting located in either Etobicoke or Mississauga. This role is flexible and can work around your availability.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Personal Support Worker (PSW) Diploma from an accredited institution
  • NACC certificate if credentials were obtained from a private career college
  • Has a valid First Aid and CPR certificate
  • Has a valid Mask Fit certificate
  • Has the basic skills and knowledge in caregiving such as personal care techniques, infection control, and basic medical terms
  • Working knowledge of spoken and written English and ability to take direction from appropriate professional hospital employees

Responsibilities
  • Ensure client safety is maintained at all times.
  • Assist clients with overall daily hygiene including bathing, grooming, toileting, and dressing.
  • Support clients with ambulation, transfers, and mobility through mobility aids such as wheelchairs to avoid fall and injury.
  • Assist clients with their meals by aiding with eating, ensuring proper nutrition, and ensuring dietary requirements are being met as well as monitoring dietary restrictions.
  • Provide emotional support and companionship to the clients by listening to their needs, being attentive, engaging in a conversation, and providing encouragement and reassurance to promote social interaction.
  • Monitor changes in behavior, health, and overall well-being.
  • Assist client with other activities of daily living such as banking, shopping, and other usual errands.
