QUALIFICATIONS:

  • P.R. & First Aid.
  • Original and current Police Check with Vulnerable Sector Screening
  • Efficient and effective time management skills.
  • Demonstrated verbal and written communication skills.
  • Work Conditions and Physical Capabilities: Physically demanding, Bending, crouching, kneeling, Work under pressure, Combination of sitting, standing, walking, Fast-paced environment.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Own transportation, Own vehicle
  • Demonstrated experience in a long-term care setting is preferred.
  • Knowledge about POC Documentation
    Job Types: Fixed term contract, Casual
    Pay: $25.00-$26.00 per hour

Responsibilities
  • Performs skills and routine activities of daily living and instrumental activities of daily living as per standards set out in PSW certification (or equivalent)
  • Promotes the provision of resident focused care in accordance with the organization policies, physician’s orders, and resident plan of care, resident bill of rights and related philosophies.
  • Provides care and services to the residents with respect to their senses, communication, activities of daily living and personal life style choices.
  • Observes, reports, records resident conditions and follows care plans as directed by the Registered Nurse
  • Is accountable for own decisions and actions, within the PSW scope of practice, providing quality client care.
  • Documents and reports client information according to facility policy.
  • Assesses clients’ safety status, including physical environment and advocates on client’s behalf to ensure client’s safety is maintained.
  • Works with team members to ensure even distribution of work & that clients needs are met in a timely fashion.
  • Shares information appropriately, accurately and clearly. Ensures that client information is treated with confidentiality
