Job Summary:
We are seeking a mature caregiver with experience looking after Alzheimer’s patients who can provide individualized care to a woman in her home who is from the Caribbean. We seek someone who will engage our client, is friendly, courteous, warm and gentle , willing to do light cleaning and assemble light meals.
This position is part time, ten hours a week occurring two evenings/week.
Responsibilities:
- Provide personal care and support to individuals in their home
- Assist with mobility and transfers, including heavy lifting when necessary
- Provide companionship and emotional support to individuals
- Assist with meal preparation and feeding
- Help with household tasks such as cleaning and laundry
- Monitor and report any changes in the individual’s condition or behavior
- Provide dementia care and support for individuals with memory loss
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to ensure the well-being of individuals
- Maintain accurate documentation of care provided
Requirements:
- Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
- Knowledge of assisted living, senior care, and patient care practices
- Ability to administer medications following proper protocols
- Strong communication skills to interact effectively with individuals and their families
- Ability to handle physical demands of the job, including heavy lifting and assisting with mobility
- Compassionate and patient demeanor when working with individuals with dementia or memory loss
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Flexibility to adapt to changing needs and schedules

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

Education:

• AEC / DEP or Skilled Trade Certificate (preferred)

Experience:

• caregiving: 2 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• PSW certificate (required)
• Driving Licence (required)
